The Sudanese Ministry of Health said on Thursday that it had found the first two cases of A/H1N1 flu virus in the country.

The Sudanese Ministry of Health said in a statement that the two infected Sudanese came into the North African country on a flight from Britain.

"That took place on July 13. They are two Sudanese residing outside the country," said it.

The statement noted that the ministry had isolated them and "after conducting necessary examination, the ministry found that they were positively carrying the virus well-known as H1N1."

It added that the patients were recovering after receiving treatment.

So far, the novel flu virus has caused 94,512 infections in some 136 countries and regions, with 429 deaths, according to latest figures released by the World Health Organization.
