Macao reported three newly confirmed cases of Influenza A/H1N1 on Wednesday, bringing the total number of such cases to 90 so far.
Two of the three newly confirmed cases were locally infected while the other one was imported, according to Macao's Health Bureau.
The two locally infected cases concerned a nine-year-old local boy and a three year-old girl, the fathers of whom have tested positive for the A/H1N1 flu virus before. The Bureau said that the boy's mother has been quarantined in a local hospital, while the mother and grand mother of the girl were put under medical observation at their own residence.
The imported patient was a 13-year-old Irish girl who lived in Macao. She traveled to Philippines between July 7 and 12, and tested positive for the virus after returning to Macao. Her parents, brother and nanny were under medical observation at their own residence.
According to the statistics from the Bureau, some 15 patients who tested positive for the virus were still receiving medical treatments at local hospitals, while 73 others were discharged from the hospitals.
