Costa Rican Health Minister Maria Luisa Avila on Monday confirmed the second death of A/H1N1 flu in the country.
A 36-year-old woman died in hospital with complications from high blood pressure and lung problems, Avila told Xinhua.
"The woman has pathological obesity. It is not a case of contracting the influenza, but routine tests found that she had A/H1N1 flu, " said Avila.
Costa Rica reported its first death of A/H1N1 flu on May 9. The dead was a 52-year-old man.
The country has reported a total of 229 confirmed A/H1N1 cases and 77 suspected flu cases, Avila said.
The country has run out of reactive agent for the flu tests, resulting a very high number of suspected cases, but the tests will resume in the next few days, she said.
