Malaysia confirmed 12 new A/H1N1 flu cases on Sunday, bringing up the total number to 124 in the country.

The Malaysian Health Ministry said that among the 12 new cases, one was locally transmitted and others were imported.

The 12 new cases involved three Indonesians and two from the United States.

This was the first time that Malaysia received imported cases from Jakarta, Indonesia, officials from the ministry said.

So far, the total number of the locally transmitted cases in Malaysia has increased to 17, according to the ministry.

Meanwhile, the authorities Sunday ordered a high school in the Sembilan State to close for one week as one of the students there was confirmed with A/H1N1 flu.

The school, which was the fifth school ordered to close down in the country, has some 1,650 students and 80 teachers.
