Chinese Mainland Confirms 48 New A/H1N1 Cases

The Chinese mainland confirmed 48 new cases of A/H1N1 flu from 6:00 PM on Thursday to 6:00 PM on Friday, bringing the total to 618, with no reports of deaths.
Twenty-one new cases were confirmed in Guangdong Province, five in Shanghai, four in Fujian Province.
The cities of Beijing and Chongqing, and the provinces of Zhejiang and Jiangsu, each reported three new cases. Hunan and Sichuan provinces each reported two. One new case each was reported in Hubei and Shaanxi provinces.
According to local health authorities, Guangdong has reported 184 confirmed A/H1N1 flu cases, the most in the mainland.
Beijing has reported 106 cases. The city saw the first patient infected through local transmission Thursday.
Eighty-nine cases were reported in Shanghai, 68 in Fujian, 37 in Sichuan, 24 in Zhejiang, 18 in Jiangsu, 16 in Hubei, 14 in Liaoning, nine each in Tianjin, Hunan and Shandong, five each in Guizhou, Chongqing and Hebei, four each in Guangxi, Hunan and Hainan, three in Anhui, two in Henan, and one each in Jilin, Shanxi, Jiangxi, Yunnan and Shaanxi.
Shaanxi Province reported its first case Friday.
Among the patients, 338 have been discharged from hospitals while 280 were still being treated.
