A spokesman for the Hong Kong Department of Health said there had been 36 newly confirmed cases of A/H1N1 influenza in the 24 hours to 2:30 PM (0630 GMT) on Wednesday.

This brings the total number of A/H1N1 influenza cases to 444 in Hong Kong, the spokesman said.

The new cases involved 16 males and 20 females, aged between 5 and 53, said the spokesman.
