Nepali Gov't Steps up Surveillance to Prevent A/H1N1 Flu

The Nepali government is stepping up surveillance to prevent A/H1N1 flu from making inroads into the country.
Director of the Epidemiology and Disease Control Division Dr. Senendra Rai Upreti told Monday's The Kathmandu Post daily that they have put surveillance systems at 40 places in the country on high alert.
The authorities have stepped up vigil at border check-posts and airports to prevent the entry of the virus, which causes the deadly flu.
"A/H1N1 flu has not been detected in the country but we have to stay on high alert since the World Health Organization has declared the deadly flu outbreak a global pandemic," said Upreti.
