Thai Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva on Sunday said in his weekly TV address that the number of A/H1N1 flu case nationwide is going to rise, but the government will not cover up the true figure.
Thai people, however, have no need to be panic since the chance of death caused by the new flu strain is not high, Abhisit said, adding people should follow the preventive measures suggested, such as washing hands often.
He said the potential flu pandemic will have impact on the Thailand's tourism industry, but the government is not doing cover-up and will keep the public informed of the situation as quickly as possible.
Thailand on Saturday reported the total number of confirmed flu case nationwide being 106, including 17 kids from a kindergarten becoming the latest ones showing A/H1N1 virus positive.
Thailand reported its first two confirmed flu cases on May 12.
