Three more A/H1N1 flu cases have been confirmed in Brazil, raising the total number of infected cases in the country to 28, the Health Ministry announced on Thursday.
The three patients, from the states of Sao Paulo and Mato Grosso respectively, were infected during international trips, the ministry said.
They have been medicated and isolated at home, it said.
Sao Paulo, the most populous state in Brazil, has reported 12 A/H1N1 flu cases, the highest number in the country. It is followed by Rio de Janeiro with seven cases, Santa Catarina with four, Mato Grosso with two and one each in Minas Gerais, Rio Grande do Sul and Tocantins.
Seven of the 28 cases were infected with the A/H1N1 flu virus in Brazilian territory, all of whom had close contacts with patients who were infected abroad.
In addition, there are 41 suspected A/H1N1 flu cases in Brazil.
