The Argentine Health Ministry on Sunday reported 15 new cases of the A/H1N1 flu, raising the total number of infections in the country to 115.
Most of the new cases are students, Deputy Health Minister Carlos Soratti told reporters.
As about 400 samples taken from students nationwide were still being tested, more cases are likely to be found in the coming days, he said.
He also said samples taken from a 29-year-old man who died of an acute respiratory illness Saturday in the northern province of Jujuy were being examined to see if there were any links between his death and the A/H1N1 flu.
Also on Sunday, Antonio Risso Patron, who runs the Pablo Soria Public Hospital in Jujuy's provincial capital, said the man developed symptoms of the flu Friday.
The man was a bus driver in Mendoza, 1,200 km from the country's capital, where he had contact with a group of Chilean tourists as passengers. One of these Chileans was suffering the flu, Risso said.
If testing confirmed links between his death and the A/H1N1 flu, it would be the first death case caused by the epidemic in Argentina.
