Shanghai's 1st A/H1N1 Flu Patient Discharged from Hospital

The first confirmed A/H1N1 flu patient in east China's Shanghai was discharged from hospital at 3:00 PM on Saturday.

The 30-year-old Chinese man, surnamed Shu, had lived in Australia and worked for an Australian company.

The man arrived in Shanghai on May 23 from Melbourne by Air China flight CA 178. He was confirmed as the first A/H1N1 case in Shanghai on May 25 and was then sent to the municipal public health clinical center to receive medical treatment under quarantine.

According to Zhang Zhiyong, head of the clinical center, the patient had been served by 10 doctors and nurses before he was discharged from hospital. The center arranged a car to take him tothe Pudong International Airport to leave for Shenyang in northeastern China.

At present, there are still three A/H1N1 flu patients hospitalized in Shanghai. They are all in stable condition.

As of Friday afternoon, the mainland had 21 confirmed A/H1N1 flu cases.
