The A/H1N1 influenza outbreak has peaked and the situation in Russia is under control, First Deputy Prime Minister Viktor Zubkov said on Wednesday.
"According to statistical reports, the peak of the A/H1N1 flu incidence rate has passed, including in those countries which were recognized as A/H1N1 flu-affected, only a few new A/H1N1 flu cases are reported now," Zubkov said at a meeting on disease prevention.
The situation in Russia is under control because all necessary preventive measures are being taken, the deputy prime minister said.
Therefore, he said, "no special measures are needed."
Zubkov said just two cases of overseas flu infection have been reported in Russia.
On Wednesday, Interfax reported that the first Russian to be diagnosed with the virus has recovered and has left a Moscow hospital.
"The man is absolutely in good health and he has been discharged today following a doctors' conference," a Moscow medical source said, adding that "the medical treatment has been effective."
The second patient remains in the same hospital, the source said.
