HK Confirms New Case of A/H1N1 Flu

A woman tested positive for the A/ H1N1 virus in Hong Kong on Tuesday, taking the number of confirmed cases in the city to 10, local health authorities told at a press briefing on Tuesday evening.
The patient, a 56-year-old local resident, recently traveled to San Francisco in the United States with her husband and returned to Hong Kong onboard the Cathay Pacific flight CX873 on May 23, said Thomas Chung, Head of the Emergency Response and Information Branch of Department of Health at a press briefing on Tuesday.
According to Chung, the woman showed symptoms of influenza including fever and sore throat during her travel in the United States.
The patient did not mention about her symptoms on the health declaration form at the Hong Kong International Airport, he said.
On arriving at Hong Kong, the couple went to their home located in Ma On Shan by taking the bus route number A41P. The patient went to work by taking the Mass Transit Railway from her home to Central. She saw a doctor at the Kwong Wah Hospital on May 25 and has been to the Princess Margaret Hospital for quarantine.
The department was tracking down the passengers who might have been in contact with the patient.
