New Zealand's Ministry of Health officials on Monday quarantined another seven people suspected of having Influenza A/H1N1, as the virus continued to infect people in other countries.

The number of people in New Zealand with the A/H1N1 virus in New Zealand remained stable, with no new reported cases, the Health Ministry said.

Those quarantined on Monday would join one person isolated on Sunday to receive precautionary Tamiflu treatment for 72 hours. They would take the medication for five days in total.

In New Zealand, the total number of known past infections remained at nine, with another probable case and 19 suspected cases. Ministry officials added another person to the suspected list within the last 24 hours.

All of those infected had recently returned from overseas travel or had been in close contact with others with the flu. There was no evidence of the virus spreading through the community in New Zealand , the ministry said.
