Malaysia's second confirmed patient with the A/H1N1 flu virus was discharged from hospital on Wednesday, said a local health official.
"The girl has recovered well and the symptoms of H1N1 did not develop further after a week back in the country," Phee Boon Poh., chairman of the Health, Welfare, Caring Society and Environment Committee in the northern Penang State, told reporters in his office.
The 21-year-old patient, a student in the United States, was detected to have contracted the disease on her return from New Jersey last Friday.
She was a friend of the first patient, a 21-year old male student, and both of them had returned on the same flight.
The first patient was quarantined at the Sungai Buloh Hospital in central Selangor state.
