Thailand's Health Ministry said on Tuesday that the country had first two A/H1N1 flu cases, however, the two patients have already recovered and will not spread the deadly flu disease to others. The two persons had just returned from Mexico.
The first case was registered with the Thai Health Ministry on May 9 and the patient was treated with the antiviral Oseltamivir, Witthaya Kaewparadai, Thai Minister of Public Health told reporters at a press conference.
Also, the specimens from the patient were sent to the US' Centers for Disease Control (USCDC) and the CDC had confirmed to Thailand that the patient had been infectious with the deadly A/ H1N1 flu, said Witthaya.
For the second case, Witthaya said the patient was sick with mild fever after having arrived in Thailand for three days, while laboratory tests also confirmed that the second case was infectious with the A/H1N1 flu.
