Thais should be well prepared for the possible outbreak of the deadly A/H1N1 flu in the country as they should avoid entering crowded areas and should keep cleanness, warned on Monday Doctor Thawee Chotphitthayasunan, head of an academic team at the Thai Health Ministry.
It will be possible the A/H1N1 flu outbreak to spread to Thailand, though the country is fully prepared to prevent it, the website by Thai language newspaper Matichon quoted Thawee as saying.
Even though the United States and Europe, which have a better public health system than that of Thailand, could not prevent the outbreak, while the deadly virus spread quickly there, said Thawee.
"So, it will definitely spread to Thailand, while no one knows how much the disease will affect here," Thawee predicted.
Thawee said he has instructed hospitals across the country to be prepared and train medical staff for the possible outbreak.
Those, who go abroad, or return from foreign countries, need to report to concerned authorities in a bid to curb the potential outbreak, Thawee said.
