Costa Rican Health Ministry said on Thursday that 541 possible cases of the A/H1N1 flu have been detected in the country so far, 395 of whom have already been discarded by lab tests.
Doctor from the Health Ministry Daniel Salas said in a press conference that they are analyzing 137 samples, while the number of cases "highly possible" are kept on eight.
To the moment, only one of the cases have been confirmed positive as the A/H1N1 flu by the Center of Disease and Prevention Control (CDC) of the United States.
Salas said that with the arrival of the raining season in the country, the possibilities of seasonal flu will increase, so he urged the people to pay attention to the symptoms and to attend the medical centers if it is necessary.
"There is not much difference between the seasonal flu and the A/H1N1 flu, but people must be careful with the symptoms like difficulties to breathe," he said.
Costa Rica was the second Latin American country following Mexico to confirm cases of A/H1N1 flu on its territory.
