Australian Journalist Disappointed in British A/H1N1 Flu Treatment

An Australian journalist who tested positive for influenza A/H1N1 in the UK said on Monday she was disappointed in the way the British authorities handled her case.
"Initially I was told I wasn't allowed to leave home then I was told I was, then I was told I wasn't, so today I got the definitive feedback which was until you have finished the Tamiflu and until you've got absolutely no symptoms, you'll have to stay indoors," Kate Corbett told ABC radio.
Corbett said her friend's girlfriend has subsequently called to inform Corbett one of the members, who she had traveled to Mexico together, had been tested positive for influenza A/H1N1.
"Yet the health authorities didn't get in contact with me," Corbett said.
Authorities have since asked her what airline she flew out from Mexico with, what her flight numbers were.
Those people sitting within a meter of her on the flights will be notified, Corbett said.
Blood tests have also been carried out on her boyfriend and her sister who she spent time with after arriving in the UK.
The former Australian Associated Press (AAP) journalist Kate Corbett was the third Australian living in the UK to have tested positive for influenza A/H1N1, after she has returned from a trip to Mexico for a wedding last week.
