Canadian School Closed After Swine Flu Cases Confirmed

A school in western Canada's British Columbia (B.C.) Province has been closed after one student was confirmed to have swine flu, officials said on Thursday.
The student recently returned from a vacation in Mexico, officials said. The name of the school has not been released.
The case was one of five new cases of swine flu confirmed in the province on Thursday, bringing the number of cases in the province to 11.
Two of the cases involve children, and the rest are young adults, officials from the B.C. Center for Disease Control confirmed. All of the cases have been mild and the people have either recovered or are recovering.
So far, the province has confirmed one case of human-to-human secondary transmission.
According to the Public Health Agency of Canada, 15 new cases were confirmed in the country Thursday, bringing the total to 34.
Quebec reported its first case earlier Thursday. The other cases are in Ontario, Alberta, Ontario and Nova Scotia.
