Britain's Prime Minister Gordon Brown said on Wednesday three more cases of swine flu had been confirmed in the country.

Speaking in the House of Commons, Brown said a 12-year-old girl from the southwest town of Torbay and two adults from Birmingham and London had swine flu. All three had recently traveled to Mexico.

"I believe we are taking the preparations that are necessary and the precautions to prevent further incidents of the disease in this country," Brown said.

"I can confirm that we have enhanced airport checks and that we are advising people not to travel to Mexico unless necessary," he said.

Brown also said the government had decided to build up stocks of antiviral drugs, order a great deal more face masks, and send out public information to all citizens.

"By Tuesday next week there will be an information leaflet available for every family," he said.

Health officials reported Britain's first two cases of swine flu on Monday.
