The Canadian government is advising citizens against all non-essential travel to Mexico, as the death toll there of swine flu reached 152.

"As of April 27, travelers from Canada are recommended to postpone elective or non-essential travel to Mexico until further notice," the Public Health Agency of Canada said in its advisory late Monday.

It recommends that those who must travel to Mexico should be very careful and take precaution measures to minimize risk, including washing hands frequently and avoiding people with respiratory illness.

Canada has now confirmed six cases of swine flu with a dozen suspected cases under probe.
