WHO Chief Sends Sympathies to China on Snow Disaster

The World Health Organization (WHO) has sent a message of sympathy to Chinese leaders on the worst weather disaster the country has experienced in decades.

In her message to Chinese President Hu Jintao and Premier Wen Jiabao Wednesday, WHO Director-General Margaret Chan extended her sympathies to those affected by the snow disaster.

Chan spoke highly of disaster relief measures taken by the Chinese government and expressed her hope that power would soon be restored, transportation resumed and people's life in the blizzard-hit regions returned to normal.
