Spokesman: Fire Alarm in Shenzhou-7 False, No Fire Breaks out

A fire alarm the Shenzhou-7 spacecraft reported during China's maiden spacewalk on Saturday afternoon was false, said Wang Zhaoyao, spokesperson with the manned space program on Saturday.

The alarm sounded because of a sensor error, said Wang at a press conference.

Taikonaut Zhai Zhigang floated out of Shenzhou-7 at about 4:34 PM (Beijing Time) on Saturday, accomplishing China's first attempt on an extravehicular activity (EVA).
