Rodong Sinmun, a state-run newspaper of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), published a story on Saturday to praise China's relief work after a devastating earthquake.
The article, written by a Beijing-based reporter, said China launched a national campaign to aid the victims of the earthquake in Yushu, Qinghai.
Leaders of the Chinese Communist Party and the government went to the quake-hit area to offer their condolences to the victims and supervise relief work, the story said. Moreover, the People's Liberation Army and armed police acted promptly, and a national fundraiser was held.
People in many countries sympathized with the victims of the 7.1-magnitude earthquake in northwestern China, and the citizens of the DPRK earnestly hoped that the Chinese people can resume a normal life, the story said.
