Banks and vendors in Yushu have reopened for business for the first time since the quake struck more than a week ago.

Four banks have reopened in the township of Gyegu. They are operating in makeshift tents and have extended business hours to ensure residents can deposit and withdraw money conveniently.

Meanwhile, many vendors have resumed business to sell basic living necessities, including toiletries, shoes and socks. Residents can also buy fresh produce such as fruit and vegetables.
