A medical team from Taiwan will set for Qinghai Province on Chinese mainland on Sunday to assist the quake relief work there, the local Red Cross organization said Saturday evening in a press release.

The 20-member medical team was decided after an urgent negotiation by the two sides of the Strait.

The team was expected to reach Xining, capital city of the quake-hit Qinghai at 9 p.m, the press release said.

The major task of the team was to help the surgery treatment and public health work in the relief, the press release said.
