A brief flurry of snow is expected in the quake-hit Tibetan Autonomous Region of Yushu in northwestern China's Qinghai Province Saturday night, according to a weather forecast.

The flurry would not last long, and the amount of snow would not be large enough to pose serious threats to rescue missions in the quake zone, the forecast said.

The 7.1-magnitude quake which hit Yushu early Wednesday has left at least 1,144 people dead, 11,744 others injured, and 417 missing.
