The United States on Thursday donated US$100,000 to northwest China's Qinghai Province to help with relief operations after Wednesday's earthquake.
"We are dedicated to supporting you," said the US Ambassador to China Jon Huntsman at a donation ceremony.
Huntsman gave the US$100,000-check to Guo Changjiang, vice president of the Red Cross Society of China.
The 7.1-magnitude quake, which struck the Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture of Yushu in southern Qinghai Province early on Wednesday, has left 617 dead, 9,110 injured and 313 missing.
The earthquake has also toppled 15,000 residential buildings and forced 100,000 residents to be relocated, according to the rescue headquarters.
