Restrictions on Chinese Exports Hurt Foreign Businesses in China

Premier Wen Jiabao said Sunday that restrictions on China's exports would hurt foreign businesses in China.
Process trade accounts for half of China's massive trade volume, and exports by foreign businesses and Chinese-foreign joint ventures in China account for 60 percent, said Wen at a press conference after the National People's Congress (NPC) concluded its annual session.
"If you put restrictions on China, you are also hurting your enterprises," said Wen.
"I sincerely hope that the United States and the European nations would acknowledge China's market economy status and lift restrictions on exports of hi-tech products to China, which is conducive to a balanced trade," he said.
