Members of China's top political advisory body were arriving in Beijing for their annual consultation. Along with them, they bring proposals for the country's development in various fields.
As a CPPCC member, Wang Wenbiao was busy recently.
Ahead of the two sessions of the CPPCC and NPC, he had a video conference with herdsmen and experts on desertification prevention, adding their opinions to his proposal.
Herdsman said, "Can the government extend the term for the use of desertified land from 30 years to 50 years? In that case, we herdsmen can plant more trees on the land and our income will be increased."
The herdsmen said their annual income has reached 20 thousand yuan by planting ecological forests, allowing many of them to buy cars.
However, desertification prevention requires large investment, which has kept many herdsmen and entrepreneurs from participating.
Wang Wenbiao, CPPCC Member, said, "If the term could be extended, and the re-assignment of the ecological land could be realized, then both of the herdsmen and entrepreneurs will be motivated to participate in the ecological construction. This is the core of my proposal."
Tang Jianren and his fellow members came to the Beijing No.35 middle school right after they arrived in the capital.
There they met teachers and students, and tried to get more insight to use in their proposals on education.
Tang Jianren, CPPCC Member, said, "We pay close attention to the equality of education. Through this trip to No.35 middle school, we improve our proposals."
More than 2,000 CPPCC members will attend this year's gathering. Social welfare issues, including housing, education, medicare, and employment are expected to be the hottest topics.
