How Long Does a Local Committee Serve?

The provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the central government, autonomous prefectures, cities divided into districts, counties, autonomous counties, as well as cities not divided into districts and districts under the jurisdiction of cities, where there are conditions for the CPPCC to set up, shall establish local committees of the CPPCC. Such local committees serve a term of five years.

Each local committee has a chairman, several vice chairmen and a secretary-general. Local committees of the CPPCC in counties, autonomous counties, cities not divided into districts and districts under the jurisdiction of cities may not have a secretary-general in light of the local conditions.
