The major duties of CPPCC members include:

Abiding by the CPPCC charter.

Abiding by and carrying out resolutions adopted during a CPPCC meeting.

CPPCC members who have seriously violated the CPPCC charter or resolutions adopted during CPPCC meetings shall be disciplined by the Standing Committee, including warnings to strip them of the qualifications necessary to participate in the CPPCC, depending on the gravity of the case. Disagreements with imposed sanction may be appealed.
