Major donors on Monday gathered to evaluate how much they have to contribute to reconstruct Haiti, which was badly damaged by the Jan. 12 earthquake.
Delegates representing at least 20 donors were to hear assessment reports from both an international inspection team and the government of the Caribbean island state.
The donor countries and regions are expected to present their conclusion at a Haiti reconstruction summit, which will be hosted by the United Nations on March 31 in New York.
At the UN summit, donor countries will pledge their aid to Haiti.
The evaluation meeting, to last till Wednesday, will focus on reconstruction in such fields as infrastructure, housing and telecommunications, according to Dominican Economy Minister Temistocles Montas.
The delegates will also incorporate Haiti's development plan into their action plan for reconstruction.
