Several Gaza militants exchanged fire on Friday morning with Israeli soldiers in the border area between eastern Gaza Strip and Israel and no injuries were reported, witnesses and security sources said.
The witnesses said a group of militants attacked an Israeli army force east of al-Maghazi refugee camp in central Gaza Strip, adding that a gun battle erupted in the area between the militants and the Israeli soldiers.
Security sources in Gaza said that clashes took place near the crossing of Kissufim east of the refugee camp, adding that several bombs and missiles were used in the armed clashes.
Israeli Radio quoted an Israeli army spokesman as saying that several mortar shells fired by Gaza militants landed on Israeli territories, causing no damages or injuries, noting that an Israeli army force foiled an attempt of Palestinian militants to plant roadside bombs in the area.
Meanwhile, the witnesses in the area said they saw Israeli army bulldozers razing lands near the fence, searching for roadside bombs planted by the Palestinian militants.
On Thursday, a Palestinian militant was killed and three children injured in Israeli artillery shell fire on the eastern area of the borders between southern Gaza Strip and Israel.
