The Israeli army arrested early on Tuesday eight Palestinians, including six in the West Bank and two fishermen in the Gaza Strip, Palestinian security sources said.

The sources said that Israeli army forces stormed a village near Ramallah and arrested two people in a predawn operation. Another four people were arrested from their homes in Bethlehem area.

Israeli Radio quoted Israeli army sources as saying that the six detained Palestinians are wanted by Israeli security forces, and they were taken to an Israeli jail for questioning.

Israel has been conducting daily arrests among Palestinian activists, saying that there are Palestinians planning every day for attacks against Israeli targets in the West Bank and in Israel.

Meanwhile, the Israeli naval forces arrested at dawn two Gaza fishermen while they were fishing on their boat in southern Gaza Strip beach, Hamas interior security sources said.

Israel allowed two days ago thousands of Palestinian fishermen in the Gaza Strip to go fishing after it sealed off the sea for several months.

In the West Bank, a pro-Hamas news website reported on Tuesday that Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas security forces arrested three of Hamas members in the West Bank cities of Jenin, Nablus and Hebron.

Abbas security forces arrest Hamas activists and members amid fears that Hamas would take control of the West Bank as it did in June 2007 in the Gaza Strip, where it routed Abbas security forces and rules the enclave.
