Abu Ahmed, spokesman for Saraya al-Quds, Jihad's armed wing, said in a statement that the recent Israeli strikes on the Gaza Strip will be met by a tough response by the Palestinian resistance.
"The Palestinian armed resistance will choose the right time and place to respond. All the armed factions have a consensus that the last Israeli aggression is a threat to the status of calm that dominates the region," said Abu Ahmed.
Israeli war jets struck on Tuesday night the borderline area between southern Gaza Strip and Egypt, destroying several tunnels used for smuggling goods and fuels from Egypt into the blockaded Gaza Strip.
The war jets also struck by missiles two metal workshops and two cars which belong to militants in central and northern Gaza Strip, wounding at least five people, according to medical reports.
"The recent Israeli escalation on our people in the Gaza Strip is just only a selective change in the escalation and nothing new has changed," said Abu Ahmed, adding "Israeli escalates military actions against our people everyday."
On December 27, Israel carried out a 22-day air, sea and ground military offensive on the Gaza Strip, aiming at stopping militants, mainly Hamas movement, from launching homemade rockets from Gaza at Israel.
