At least three Palestinians were injured, including one seriously, in an Israeli airstrike on Tuesday on a car that drove in northern Gaza Strip, medics and Hamas security sources reported.
The sources said that an Israeli naval gunship hit by one missile the car that drove on the northern Gaza Strip costal road. In the car there were three people, who were hurt and taken to the hospital.
Gaza emergency chief Mo'aweya Hassanein confirmed that three Palestinians were hurt, with one of them seriously in the Israeli attack on the car. He denied there was anyone killed in the attack.
However, an Israeli army spokesman said in a statement that it was an aerial attack on a car in northern Gaza Strip, adding that in the car there were three militants who are involved in launching homemade rocket attacks on Israel.
Shortly before the Israeli strike on the car, a pro-Iran group called the Brigades of Hezbollah in Palestine claimed responsibility for firing two homemade rockets from northern Gaza at southern Israel.
According to the Israeli army spokesman, "since Israel called off its offensive in Gaza in late January and the Islamic Hamas rulers of Gaza also declared a ceasefire, more than 100 rockets have been fired at Israel."
Israel routinely retaliated by bombing smuggling tunnels along the Gaza-Egypt border and targeting Hamas weapons stores. Airstrikes at militants are less frequent.
