Israel on Wednesday opened commercial crossings with Gaza Strip to allow aid trucks and fuel into the territory.
Ra'ed Fatouh, head of private sector coordination committee, said that 110 trucks will make their way through Kerem Shalom crossing in southeast Gaza Strip.
Most of these truckloads will go to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA), the largest aid organization operating in the Hamas-controlled Gaza Strip.
Israel will also let Jordanian aid in through Kerem Shalom and 29 trucks for the private companies, laden with frozen meat, children diapers, and another 10 trucks of fruits.
As part of the sanctions on Gaza Strip, Israel restricts the flow of cargo only to the basic needs and humanitarian aid. The sorts and quantities of goods are allocated according to the security and political situation.
Meanwhile, Israel will also open Karni and Nahal Oz crossings in eastern Gaza city for trucks of wheat, animal fodder, cooking gas and industrial diesel that would go for the only power plant in the coastal strip.
On Wednesday, Egypt closed its borders with the territory after a three-day opening for students, patients, holders of foreign residencies and other humanitarian cases.
