Earlier on Thursday, Israeli soldiers shot dead a Palestinian Islamic Jihad member in the village of Qabatia, south of the West Bank town of Jenin. Israel said Alla Abu el-robb, 21, was planning a suicide bombing attack into Israel.
The violence between Israel and the Palestinians mounted as Israel and Hamas movement, which rules Gaza, have not yet reached a longer term ceasefire agreement mediated by Egypt.
Israel has carried out on December 27, a 22-day military assault on the Gaza Strip aimed at weakening Hamas movement. However, around 1,400 people were killed and 5,500 wounded, most of them were civilians, women and children.
