Israeli Aircraft Hits Car in S Gaza

An Israeli aircraft struck by one missile a car that drove east of the southern Gaza Strip town of Rafah, two people who were in the car were hurt, medics and witnesses said.

Witnesses in the town said that an Israeli pilotless drone fire one air-to-ground missile at the car, and two people in the car were badly injured and their car was completely destroyed.

Medics at Rafah Hospital also said a local car brought two casualties in serious conditions after an Israeli warplane struck their car east of the town.

Overnight, Israeli army warplanes carried out a series of intensive airstrikes on the Gaza Strip, mainly on the borderline area between Rafah town in southern Gaza Strip and Egypt.

Palestinians said that dozens of families in the town were seen leaving their homes closed to the borderline, adding that overnight, around six heavy bombs hit the area, causing severe damages, but no casualties were reported.

Israel Radio reported that the Israeli army air forces targeted the area where Palestinians dig tunnels under the border between Gaza and Egypt, which are used for smuggling.

An evacuated police station belongs to Hamas movement was also bombarded twice over night in central Gaza Strip. Severe damage was caused to the station, but no injuries were reported.

The Israeli airstrikes on the Gaza Strip were carried out after Gaza militants launched around eight makeshift rockets and mortars from the Gaza Strip at Israeli communities in the south.
