Rainstorm cut off the electricity supply in suburban Beijing on Saturday, which affected more than nearly 10,000 people, local authorities said on Late Saturday.
As of 8:00 PM, the rain had hit suburban districts, including Yanqing, Tongzhou, Daxing, Shunyi and Pinggu Districts, and cut off 15 electricity supply lines, said an official of Beijing Electricity Power Company.
Six of the 15 had been resumed after repairing work while the other nine had been under repairing, the official said.
Downtown Beijing had not been affected, the official said.
The rain had almost stopped and thunderstorm weather would appear in some areas in Beijing over the night, which would not affect the repairing work, said an official with Beijing Meteorological Bureau.
According to the latest weather forecast, heavy rain will arrived in Beijing again on Sunday morning.
