Typhoon Hagupit Eases to Severe Tropical Storm After Lashing S China

Typhoon Hagupit has downgraded to severe tropical storm at 2:00 PM on Wednesday in coastal areas of south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, according to the National Meteorological Center.

The center added the storm was forecast to continue easing.

The typhoon made landfall in Dianbai County in the city of Maoming, neighboring Guangdong Province, at 6:45 AM.
