China Extends Rural Subsidies Scheme for Home Appliance Purchases

Rural residents in hustle and bustle pick out arrays of washing machines on sales with governmental subsidies, at the trade fair tour for sales promotion of home appliances to countryside, at Yanghe Township, Huaying City, southwest China's Sichuan Province, on March 11, 2009. China extended its rural subsidies scheme for home appliance purchases nationwide in an effort to boost rural consumption. The government would provide a 13-percent subsidies to all rural buyers of home appliances, including color TVs, refrigerators, mobile phones, washing machines and freezers. [Xinhua]
