Performers for the opening ceremony of the Sixth National Farmers' Games, which is due to be held from October 26 to November 1 in city Quanzhou, southeast China's Fujian Province, are now in the midst of final rehearsals, the official event website 6thnyh.com reports.

The performers, including over 600 professionals and 6,500 extras began dress rehearsing on October 8 at the Straits Sports Center, main venue for the games.

Other preparations for the games, which comes every four years, are also now in full swing. The media center, from where domestic and international reporters will cover the games, will be put into operation soon, the website said.
