Legless Dance Teacher Raises Money for Quake Victims

A legless dance teacher is organizing a non-profit performance to raise money for people in earthquake-hit areas.

Liao Zhi was a dance teacher in Mianzhu City, southwest China's Sichuan Province, before losing her legs in the devastating earthquake in May this year.

The teacher, who got medical treatment in Chongqing, hopes to help people in her hometown to survive the chilly winter.

Liao Zhi said the low temperature in Mianzhu is always below zero at night in winter.

She is communicating with Chongqing local Chambers of Commerce and charity organizations to jointly hold the non-profit performance.

On Wednesday, a Chongqing entrepreneur called Sun Huaiqing donated the first 20,000 yuan to Liao Zhi.
