China Nods on General Programming Outline for Post-quake Reconstruction

China has nodded on the general planning outline for after-quake restoration and reconstruction work, said a senior official with the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) on Tuesday.

NDRC deputy head Mu Hong said at a press conference that China has got close to finish evaluating the range and loss from the disaster as well as the carrying capacity of the resources and environment in areas affected by the magnitude 8.0 earthquake that struck southwest Sichuan Province on May 12.
