State Councilor Urges Equal Emphasis on Economy, Quake Relief

State Councilor Ma Kai on Friday urged the members and organizations of the Communist Party of China (CPC) in state organs to give equal emphasis to economic development and quake relief work.

Ma, also the secretary of the State Organs Work Committee of the CPC, made the remark here at a meeting honoring outstanding grassroots CPC organizations and members of state organs for quake relief efforts.

CPC organizations and members in state organs have braved difficulties and solved the urgent problems of the masses in the quake-hit area, and they have served the people heart and soul with actual deeds, he said.

The meeting commended 59 CPC grassroots organizations and 41 CPC members.

Eight representatives from eight ministries and administrative bodies delivered reports on their experience in quake relief work.
