UNICEF to Deliver More Aid to Quake-hit Gansu Province

The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) said on Friday that it would deliver more aid to China's Gansu Province, which was hit severely by the May 12 earthquake.

In the coming days, the agency will deliver 200 large school tents, 60,000 students kits and 2,000 teacher kits to Longnan Prefecture in the southernmost point of Gansu, UNICEF spokeswoman Veronique Taveau told a news briefing in Geneva.

She said UNICEF had earlier delivered 8,000 children suits and four ambulances to Gansu.
