Quake Zone Gets 232 Aftershocks in 24 Hours

In the 24 hours ending on Friday noon, 232 aftershocks were monitored in southwest China's quake zone, according to the China Earthquake Administration.

Only one of the tremors measured above 5.0 on the Richter scale, one measured between 4.0-4.9 and all the others measured below 3.9, the administration said.

A total of 10,650 aftershocks have been detected in the quake areas since May 12 when the 8.0-magnitude quake struck.
